Regional Reconciliation Summits
Salter McNeil and Associates invites churches to host a summit where local pastors, their staff, and church leaders come together to receive training in racial reconciliation and multiethnic ministry from a biblical perspective.
Why a Reconciliation Summit?
Reconciliation Summits provide an opportunity for church leaders to be energized and renewed in their passion for multiethnic ministry. This inspirational training explores the biblical mandate for racial reconciliation and equips leaders to realize this vision in their churches. The summits are small, 50–100 people, comprised of leadership teams from local churches.
Leaders will:
- Learn the cutting edge approaches and best practices that are being successfully implemented in multiethnic/multiracial churches.
- Apply practical strategies to strengthen current, multiethnic ministries in their church and identify areas of needed improvement.
- Discover effective resources for use in churches that will empower leaders and members to implement multiethnic ministry.
Why host a summit with SMA?
SMA believes that substantial, transformational change occurs through partnerships and that regional training can lead to powerful outcomes.
Churches will:
- Build credibility by being a resource for the community to receive training in racial reconciliation and ethnic diversity.
- Create a coalition of local church leaders called to racial reconciliation. Multiethnic ministry requires a deep commitment and support. A coalition is a support system that gives encouragement, offers accountability and lends perspective.
- Motivate their leadership to work together on the task of organizing a multiethnic event. This experience brings a common purpose resulting in a unique equipping and profound unity.
What is the commitment for hosting a summit?
The church is responsible for promoting, organizing and running the regional Reconciliation Summit. SMA provides the content and training for this Friday afternoon through Saturday evening event. SMA also partners with the church by providing a general time line for preparation and templates for materials to be reproduced by the church.
What is the cost?
SMA’s fee for Reconciliation Summits is $220 per person, with a minimum number of 50 and a maximum of 100 people in attendance. The host church is welcome to add a fee to this amount to cover any overhead. However the total amount should not exceed $250 per person. The host church is responsible for the cost of the SMA’s Lead Facilitator’s travel, meals and lodging.
